1.2 Technical information

When you interact with the site, we may automatically receive certain technical information, such as:

• IP address and approximate region

• Device type and operating system
• Date and time of access
• Basic usage information (pages visited, success/failure status of requests)

This information is generally used to operate the service, troubleshoot issues, and understand usage at a high level.

2. How we use your information

2.1 To provide the service

We use your uploaded files and related technical information to:

• Receive your file securely via a Cloudflare Worker and R2 storage
• Run automated repair, conversion, and compression pipelines
• Generate a new output file for you to download
• Display status and diagnostic information about the processing steps

2.2 To maintain and improve the service

We may use aggregated and anonymized technical information to:

• Monitor system performance, stability, and error rates
• Improve repair and conversion pipelines over time
• Plan capacity and resource usage

2.3 To respond to you

If you contact us with a question, bug report, or suggestion, we may use your email address and the information you provide to reply and to better understand how to improve FixMyFile.ai.

3. File storage, retention, and deletion

3.1 Temporary file storage

Uploaded files are stored in secure object storage (for example, Cloudflare R2) for the duration of processing. This allows the system to:

• Receive the file from your browser using a secure upload URL
• Run repair, conversion, or compression steps on the backend
• Provide you with a downloadable output file

3.2 Retention period

Files are intended to be stored only temporarily and are designed to be automatically deleted from active systems within approximately 24 hours after processing completes. This retention window is intended to:

• Give you time to download your processed file
• Handle retries or transient errors during processing

In some cases (for example, system errors or queued jobs), files may be retained for a short additional period to allow troubleshooting and recovery. We do not deliberately keep your files longer than needed to provide the service.

3.3 Output files

Output files (repaired/converted/compressed versions) are handled similarly to input files and are also stored temporarily so you can download them. They follow the same approximate retention behavior.

3.4 No long-term file archive

FixMyFile.ai is not a backup or archival storage service. You should always keep your own local copies of important files. We do not guarantee that uploaded files or outputs will remain available after the normal processing and retention period.

4. Do you use my files for AI training?

No. Files you upload to FixMyFile.ai are used only to attempt repair, conversion, and compression for you. We do not use your individual files, their contents, or your personal documents as training data for unrelated AI models or third-party services.

Internal logs and metrics about system behavior may be collected in aggregate to improve reliability and performance, but these are not used to build models that identify you personally or expose your private content.

5. Cookies and analytics

FixMyFile.ai is designed to work without requiring invasive tracking. If any analytics or error-tracking tools are used in the future, they will be focused on:

• Understanding high-level usage patterns
• Detecting errors and crashes
• Planning capacity and performance improvements

If more advanced analytics are added at a later time, this section of the Privacy Policy will be updated to reflect what data is collected and how it is used.

6. Sharing and disclosure

We do not sell your personal information or your files.

FixMyFile.ai is not designed for use by children under the age of 13 (or under the minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
